GAP Plant Base

The safety and quality of GNI’s natural plant extract series originate in the natural raw plants used in our processes. In order to ensure the safety and quality of the raw herbs and plants, namely to ensure the heavy metals and pesticide residue and other safety indexes of the raw herbs and plants and their final products do not exceed the safety criteria, and ensure the active ingredients contents in the raw plants meet the standards, GNI has constructed its GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) standardized plant base of the raw plants for its main products. Strictly according to the GAP standards, GNI cultivates and harvests its main raw herbs and plants used in its products......

As defined by the UN FAO, the term GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) can refer to any collection of specific methods and principles, which when applied to agriculture, produce results that are in harmony with the values of the proponents of those practices, and which apply for on-farm production and post-production processes, resulting in safe healthy food and non-food agricultural products, while taking into account economical, social and environmental sustainability. They mainly contain the methods and principles as Integrated pest management, Integrated fertilizer management and Conservation agriculture (natural resources and environmental sustainability). The GAPs by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) focus on food safety. China State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has established its GAPs to ensure the safety and quality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), as well as to ensure the sustainability of the natural resources of the medicinal herbs and plants. SFDA has begun to accept the medicinal herb and plant cultivation enterprise to apply for GAP certificate since November 1, 2003. The implement of the SFDA GAP certification system has shown great significances, which has promoted a series of momentous changes of the cultivation enterprise, from traditional, small-scale, dispersive, unordered, ill-formed, safety-unwarranted and quality-unstable to large-scale, centralized, ordered, well-formed, safety-guaranteed and quality-stable, which fundamentally ensure the safety, quality of the medicinal herbs and plants, as well as their sustainability.

The safety and quality of GNI’s natural plant extract series originate in the natural raw herbs and plants used in our processes. In order to ensure the safety and quality of the raw herbs and plants, namely to ensure the heavy metals and pesticide residue and other safety indexes of the raw herbs and plants and their final products do not exceed their safety criteria, and ensure the active ingredients contents in the raw herbs and plants meet the standards, GNI has constructed its GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) standardized plant base of the raw herbs and plants for its main products by means of cooperation with the GAP cultivation enterprises. Strictly according to the GAP standards, GNI scientifically cultivates, manages and harvests its main raw herbs and plants used in its products. All these ensure us to satisfy our customers’ demand for both quality and quantity.
